I didn't really mean that most companies give "2 weeks" as a standard response. I meant that companies know, if an item is in stock, the longest time it will take them to fulfill an order and get it shipped to the customer. For some companies, this might only be a handful of days. For some (like when I recently got a new cell and a new latop), it could be 3 or 4 weeks.
But you have to ask yourself... as a consumer, what would make you more angry? Being told you will be getting a product from a company in a week, and not getting it for a week and a half? Or being told you will get it in two weeks, and get it in a week and a half?
If I were running a business, I would never promise a lead time that I could not deliver on 100% of the time (barring inventory stock shortages or problems with an order itself or other non-typical problems). That's just bad business.

I own a flooring and glazing business in SF. I order flooring products from different mills in Georgia everyday. All of them can give me the production date or inventory information after I enter the style and model in their system. None of them will tell me it takes 2 weeks to ship my orders from Georgia to California. It takes 3 to 4 days to ship my flooring order from Dalton to Los Angeles and takes 1 to 2 days from Los Angeles to my business address. When I place the order with Tassimo, I should be informed the inventory information or the next shipment date. Standard 2 weeks lead time answer works but no one in this community want to hear that standard answer.

Well, this is kind of the standard for most companies, actually. If they a unable to give an exact date, then they give the longest anticipated date. Product companies do this. Software companies do it when delivering updates and new releases.
It's great seeing that people are receiving products faster, as well as email confirmations and such, though.

I'm glad to hear they may be some improvements. Back when I shared my origional experience I had a lot of interaction with Tasimos reps and they assured me the problems would be getting attention. I think I'll try and place an order and share how it goes.

I just got my first order today. I placed the order on 10/13 and I received email confirmation on 10/17. Well! I should receive order acknowledgement via email within 1 business day like other online merchants. I called CS to check the status of the order on 10/14 and 10/15. Both CS assured me that it takes 24 to 48 hours to receive email confirmation. It is a tad behind the scheduled time to receive the email confirmation but I receive my first order in 8 days and I live in San Francisco bay area. It is normal to get the order delivered East coast to West coast in 8 days. However, I don't like the CS to keep telling customer it should takes 2 weeks to get the order. It will force customers to purchase from other online merchants. By the way, the second CS I spoke with has no idea how far from Pennsylvania to California. She also told me it takes 2 weeks to ship the stuff from Pennsylvania to California via UPS ground. It actually takes 4 days this time.

Tassimo has made some improvements to Delivery Service!

Since I've posted complaints here before about delivery times and notifications, I thought I'll post about my most recent positive experience.
I placed an order on Sunday Oct 17th. Received automatic email confirmation (just as before) but when I looked at my account online a few days later and the order was actually there! WTG
Today (Thursday Oct 21) - I received email notification that the order has shipped via UPS. Unlike previous shipping notifications where the status sat on "billing information received" for several days, this time the the status said "In Transit - On Time". With a delivery date of tomorrow!
The last few shipments have taken almost 2 weeks. This is will have arrived in 5 days. A HUGE improvement. I am thrilled. Keep up the good work!
Also - this is my third order in 2 months of the new Gevalia Iced Coffee (sweetened) and the Starbucks Primo Cappucino - we keep running out. Both are AWESOME drinks.
I also got a positive reaction from a couple of co-workers that tried the Maxwell House Skinny Cappucino (I have a Tassimo at work as well as home). Admittedly not as full-flavored as the regular ones, they were still impressed. It's also quite a bargain compared to the other brands.
