I guess Coffee is just like Fashion!

Whatever fits your Style, or in this case, whatever pleases your taste buds.

In my own 2 cents, even if SBux tasted comparable close to the T-Disc, I don't think I would buy a Keurig.

I am not a SBux die hard fan; I know there are other options equally or even superior to it. I do hope that Kraft wakes up and smells the coffee! LOL and opens the door to
the European T-Discs or makes new partnerships some of the many US coffee roasters.

Intelligence is only Intelligent if the right Neurons are communicating properly; and in this case, KRAFT is not Communcating with US Tassimo and obviously not listening or acting fast enough to its customer base.

When it comes right down to it, at this point in time no one can say SBuxs is going to taste terrible from a Keurig. You haven't tried it. Also, many of the good SBuxs coffees are made for good drip coffee makers. I have to honestly say many of the SBux coffees that "were" in T-disc form, with the exception of the expressos, tasted better from my Grind and Brews, than brewed from the Tassimo. For a quick cup of coffee in regard to Verona, African Kitamu, etc. you end up loosing some quality. But yes when it comes to specialty drinks the Tassimo is the best option. However, Tassimo isn't the only smart machine on the market these days. Unfortunately for us, all of the intelligent brewers that are on the market are developed for proprietal companies that want to limit product going in; same as Tassimo. I still believe we will see this change in the near future. Someone is going to come up with a smart specialty machine that is going to cater to those of us who live in the USA. I sure wish it were Tassimo. So although our machines are intelligent, that intelligence is sorely limited. And those on the other side can say about our T-coffees ....bleeechhhh, and they call MH and G good coffees??! I've had a lot of company at my house that do not like the coffees at all produced from the Tassimo; including the CNs and ML. Same as many of my co-employees at work. The complaints have been too bittery, tastes old, too astringent, etc. Because a coffee is strong, doesn't mean its a good coffee to everyone. Bluntly, not everyone is going to like the coffee that is available from the Ts.

Wolf you are right, cash is king. It's all about profit, give the customer what they want. While I'll agree that my 'bot can out brew any Keurig machine, Kraft doesn't seem to know how to give its customers what they want.

I'd wish that Kraft could learn something from this experience. So what does Kraft do? Instead of bringing out coffees such as Carte Noire out to the open market (supermarkets, Costco, BBB, etc.) they give us more Gevalia. :O

I do have that option with my traditional Drip Brewer too. Is using better coffee going to make the Keurig better? NOT!

Good Coffee + Smart Brewer = Excellent Coffee
Good Coffee + Dumb Brewer = Good Coffee with a BIG IF
K Cups + Keurig = YUCK ! Reminds me of Navy Dark Water Coffee!

I totally agree with SMG. I don't understand how SBux decided to go with the Keurig given that it is just a dumb brewer; but I guess just like anyting else, Cash is King and that is really all they are after.

I was actually hoping that the would develop their own Smart Brewer, but it is not as easy to compete with Bosch on the Smart Bot.

There's also the option of using a regular coffee maker if the Keurig machine doesn't make good coffee and the coffee the Tassimo has isn't worth drinking because neither option sounds good to me.

Here's hoping the Keurig/Lavazza specialty machine comes to fruition and makes good caps and lattes in addition to regular cups of joe. Then we'll have the best of both worlds: variety and versatility.

Agree about the awful customer care
Agree about the arrogance of no responses
Agree about it being about the coffee

DISAGREE about which coffee is better. I have tried many K-cups (different brands, different flavors) and I have to say in all honesty that overall, the t-discs make better coffee.

I cant answer as to the longevity of a Keurig machine, having never owned one. But I have not had any issues with the Tassimo machines I own (a Bosch and I had an older Braun as well).

I feel your caffeine pain. But I still think Tassimo makes better coffee..........if only they would expand their pallettes!

So I wrote letters to Kraft, and phoned, and posted messages about my dissatisfaction with the coffee products offered by Tassimo in the wake of the Starbucks debacle. And I watched while others did the same.

And I waited for a response. Or some action. Some kind of news that the Tassimo brand would respond to their loyal and VALUED customers.

Instead, I got nothing. No response. No email, fax, phone call, carrier pigeon, semaphore flag, Morse code. Nothing. I did get to see a lovely web page promising yet more terrible Gevalia coffee, or the amazing possibility of buying more MAXWELL HOUSE. Wow.

So bought my Keurig ($168 at Costco with 60 free discs), and put my Tassimo on a shelf in the basement. Goodbye.

I hope my Keurig lasts. Tassimo has always operated under the idea that it's the quality of the machine, not the quality of the coffee. Not true at all. Both are important, but at the end it's about the coffee. Tassimo doesn't offer good coffee. Keurig does. End of story.

This is what happens when a great idea is ruined by corporate heads with no idea of what their customers want. Was it really so hard to understand? We wanted COFFEE.

Still, I'm very sad about it. I championed Tassimo to many of my friends over the years. But in the end, I was wrong. Moving on now.
