Great tip. And also as a general note for folks to remember, after EACH hot chocolate or coffee that uses the milk disc, you should be cleaning the piercing unit.

Don't know if this will help, or just use as a cleaning tip.
I use cotton tipped wooden applicator sticks to give a scrub about once a week to the piercing unit. Pop it out and hold under running water and clean it anywhere coffee crud can lodge. Then run cleaning disk.

Johnny, try running this with pure water. Softened water shouldn't be used with the Tassimo, and running it through a filter will not remove the salt from the water. You might find that this improves this behavior of the brewer, and the coffee tastes better as well.

@largeeyes, We do have softened water, but the water that goes into the machine is filtered through a heavy-duty charcoal filter. It's basically more pure than bottled water.

@Sky, I have not tried contacting Customer Service yet, because all of my (many) interactions with them so far have been absolutely awful. (I ended up having to call literally eight times to get replacements for exploding T-Discs; each time they assured me the replacements had already been sent.)

So I'm saving that as a last resort.

Have you tried to contact Customer Service (http://www.tassimodirect.com/tassimo/cust/contact_us.aspx) to see if they can help?

Hi folks,

We've had our T65 since Christmas, and believe it or not it's only just occurred to me now that this behavior could be abnormal:

Once a brew cycle is complete, our machine continues to drip into the cup long past the time it says "Remove T-Disc". In fact, if you do remove the T-Disc when prompted to do so, you'll be rewarded with a spray of scalding hot coffee as the system depressurizes.

Does anyone else encounter this behavior? I'm wondering if this could be a manufacturing defect, which might also explain the abundance of grounds showing up in various varieties, and the occasional full-on explosions of Henry's Blend.

Thanks for any feedback you can offer.

-j.
