A dumb newbie mistake and aftermath!

I've had my machine for about 6 weeks. I was rushed making breakfast and started brewing a cup but forgot the cup part, duh!
While I was at the stove my wife noticed it first, grabbed a cup, but not before the counter top was a mess.
After the cleanup I started another cup and was greeted with some loud banging sounds followed by a cloud of steam.
It wasn't obvious at first but what had happened during cleanup was that the water tank had been knocked askew. The banging of course was the pump trying to move nothing.
I cleaned the piercer and ran the cleandisk and now all is well PHEW!
