Interesting solution. Serendipity strikes again. :)

The quickest way to cancel is to refuse the shipment. It deactivates your account and until you call customer service, you will neither be charged or shipped anything else. I did this by accident a couple years ago, and when I moved in with another coffee drinker, signed back up because I love the control I have over my account without having to talk to a person and the selection online is much better than through the local stores.

I don't know if I found a way to more quickly get through or if I got lucky but try the following:

1) Call 1-877-834-7271
2) Press 2
3) Then press 1 (for billing questions)

The representative immediately wanted my credit card number. Shared with the representative I might have the incorrect department but need to cancel my account as both my husband and I have lost our jobs.

The individual indicated he could, pulled my account and once again tried to sell me on keeping the account (he was just doing his job). I politely let him know I need to cancel the account.

There is no confirmation of cancellation so make sure you take down the exact date, the time of day and the name of the representative.

If Tassimo reviews these posts - strongly recommend that if you want customers to come back, you allow them to cancel their account online or give them a quick way to do so. You might end up eating costs - if there are too many disputes with credit card companies, Tassimo will end up on 'bad company' or 'problem company' list.

I for one, will not return to Tassimo even when things are better.

I agree - the subscription service is pitiful and if you sign up online you should be able to cancel online. But no....

However, the online one-time purchasing seems to work well - I placed an order on a Wednesday, it was shipped on Thursday and at my home on Tuesday - can't complain about that!!!

I remember reading about the horror of their Tassimo Direct before I bought one, when deciding between the Keurig and Tassimo. Despite that, I was certainly tempted when I got my welcome package with the promise of two thermos and free Tassimo packs (except the fact they were Starbucks, please, anything BUT Starbucks... I bought the Tassimo to never again be tempted to walk into a Starbucks whose baristas are put to shame, damn shame, by the bubbly foam the Tassimo puts out).

Fortunately I found threads such as yours here about the nonsense of Tassimo Direct. As with Xbox Live and those "free" credit reports... If I can sign up with my mouse and keyboard I should be able to cancel too. These 800 numbers are scams where you wait for half-hours on end to then get someone in India or from where ever who can't speak a lick of English and knows nothing about the product.

No thanks.

For a big company it seems like a big scam to not let members cancel their subscription services! If you call you wait on hold forever and if you email you never get a response! Please, new people looking to subscribe, do yourself a favor and but the disks from Amazon or somewhere when you want them.
