Because Gevalia won't part with their brewer ; ) I see on Facebook there is a Gevalia offer for Tassimo; free pitcher, cups, etc.

Keurig has a lousy brewer and lots of coffee choices, Tassimo has a great brewer and few, now mostly lousy, coffee choices. Why doesn't Keurig buy Tassimo, trade their brewer for the Bosch models, convert to T-cups, and solve all of our problems?

@ Jane Host
Thanks Jane, its great of you to host the site, and sorry if some of us are just plain p.o.'d at Kraft about the Starbux fiasco. It is truely sad that the worlds largest food company thought that Tassimo machines make liquid gold instead of coffee. If they sold t-discs in all the food stores ,just like their MH and other coffee lines that they have, i think Starbux would have hesitated pulling out, [because of the massive availability of Starbucks t-disc product,as well as their bagged coffee], but that never happened.
anyway, thanks again for providing this service to us, it is appreciated.

You know I had totally forgotten about this until reading facebook. Yuban also use to be available in T-disc form and later taken from the market. In 2006, customers found this to be a good sign that possibly Tassimo would be providing more choices finally. I found a thread in 2006 discussing this and also the Beta max theory just as we are today. http://www.singleservecoffeeforums.com/post10093.html Now I also found a site that mentions Tassimo is a subsidiary of Kraft, and little else is known about this corp. We also know Gevalia is a subsidiary of Kraft. I don't know if Gevalia is based in Dover, Delaware? http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=33875581
So in essence those of you who are MH fans, if Yuban was once offered and eventually withdrawn, maybe that could happen to MH too. Maybe this is why there are limitations of distribution and perhaps Kraft doesn't have a whole lot of say in this.
So here we are getting excited about 3 bold Gevalias said to be brought to the market by early summer. Two Mochas, wonder what brand the Mochas will be, not till Fall.
At this point the DG Creativa is starting to look more and more attractive to me, but I am still sitting back to see if they are indeed going to introduce more drinks in the next few months. They just introduced Caramel Latte Macchiato as a new beverage this past week. If DG does come through as they say and offer more expressos and teas, then I might spring.

I so agree with this!!!! Bosch must be rolling over in agony having made this great brewer. Would be great if Kraft just relinquished the machine to another company.

I have been wishing Kraft would do just this - for so many reasons, this just isn't a niche for Kraft. The right company could make Tassimo a real player in this market.

Maxwell House should not even be spoken in the same sentence as espresso, cappuccino, and latte. And Gevalia is, well, not that good.
Bekka, you're right about expanding on their European offerings to here.
I'm afraid teaming with smaller reputable coffee house brands makes too much sense for Kraft but a great suggestion when they have meager offerings on this site next to a slew of MH and G. I'm also impressed by the huge wall of K-cup brand varieties in Bed Bath and Beyond.
It might be better if Kraft sells off Tassimo to some company who knows what the heck they're doing. People buy the Tassimo to make coffee house style coffee and specialty drinks. Kraft needs to get with the times and that people are having more discerning tastes when it comes to coffee now than 20 years ago. I'm sorry to report to Kraft that even my mother won't drink Maxwell House.
I'm thinking Kraft did actually think they would use this machine primarily as a means to sell their main brands but little did they know that people have not reacted well to those brands and just plain didn't like them when sampled. I think they misjudged their market. Now what? Will Kraft rise to the occasion and go a promising different direction? Or will they dig in their heels and still try to push a MH and G monopoly and continue down that slide into oblivion in the new world of discriminating and varied palates?

I think we were always in agreement. I'm just suggesting what I believe their strategy should be going forward; focus on bringing licensed coffees, in the widest possible variety, to as many people as possible. They should refocus from a proprietary-only model to a more open platform.
And if it makes you feel any better, I'm allergic to chocolate.

I believe they were assuring us that is exactly what they ARE doing. What happens with that knowledge after they report it (and I believe they do), is completely out of their hands.

We are in agreement then. I don't think there's a one of us who expects or even wants a wall of T-discs. That's not what any of us are asking for and I think most of us have said that. But to relegate the meagerly offerings just to Gevalia and MH in the U.S. is totally pathetic; if not an insult. Especially when there are more premium coffees/ drinks in T-disc form already being manufactured & distributed by Kraft "discriminately" to other countries. Taste preferences in coffee is not always perception. I don't like cooked liver, it just doesn't please my palate, and it never will. I don't like the smell. Did I try it only once. Nope. I'm a glutton to get past taste aversions. No matter my distaste for it or how many times I've eaten it, I've swallowed it down when it has been served for dinner at friends' homes. If I don't enjoy it, just like any one else, "I'm" not going to eat it with enjoyment. I just don't like liver... period!!! And I feel the same way about MH & G. I've bought it, hoping I could develop or acquire a taste for it just as I did for SBuxs. I can drink it, yes, but I'm not enjoying it. I've bought coffee from all over the States and some foreign countries, unknown brands, that were fantastic. I'm allergic to lobster & other certain shellfish and that won't change. Any more than someone who has a health condition or dietary restraints. Forbidden foods or drinks wreck serious havoc. What choices do they have with Tassimo? All we want is for Kraft to wake up and realize there is a wide array of taste preferences as well as customers who just can't enjoy what offerings there are due to those physical/dieatary conditions. Sharing what is already manufactured by equal distribution across countries, developing the reuseable disc, increasing the scope of availability, and maybe bringing on board just a few other coffee brands would go a long ways to ensure customer satisfaction. This in turn is more than likely to increase the value of the brewers. The more brewers sold, the more sales will be made in coffees/drinks.

Sorry, Host_*, I hope that didn't come off as an indictment of the hosts here. For what it's worth, I've always felt both admiration and sympathy. People know that you have no direct say in the doings of the company, do your best to facilitate where you have the authority, but people will attack you as the nearest company employee to whom they somehow rationalize that they are entitled to be rude.
You are not customer service and are here to facilitate conversation and ensure civil behavior and guidelines in a very hostile environment; please do not take criticism of corporate policy personally.

I know this may be of little consequence to you, but we do pass along your feelings about Tassimo, as well as specific customer service issues.
As moderators, there is little we can say, but we do continue to listen.
