The first Tassimo Braun did not sell because of the MH and G. Those european coffees are what made this little babe so special and preferred amongst the other single serves a long time ago. Petit Dejeuner, ML, and CN ; ) Variety pack of european coffees that made an appearance and went away. Another resurgence of interest in Tassimo, now the Bosch occured when SBux and Seattle Best was available. Kraft is not doing the best they can do. People are intrigued & addicted to the european coffees and name brand "premium" coffees, which are going to sell those brewers quicker not to mention elevate the reputation of the brewer. Yep, the larger grocery store chains in this area, would sell those elusive coffees for the Tassimo "if they could get their hands on the T-discs". Would people buy those brands? Yep, if they own a Tassimo, I betcha they would buy a package of european coffees or a box of Peete's T-disc coffees over MH and Gevalia T-discs any day. Goodness, we have US citizens buying european T-discs via ebay and other countries' Amazon sites. Paying exorbient shipping costs to drink these coffees. Its not especially a secret, that Tassimo caters more to the european countries when you look at the product they have available to them. Check it out for yourself. Look at the UK's Tassimo direct site, check out France, and Germany too. If you check their forum discussions you will read they can get their T-discs locally very easily. I watched while another country UK? did up a FB page and petitioned Kraft to make Cadbury Chocolate, and guess what..... they got it ; ) There's also Marabou chocolate becoming available to european countries. Instead, in the states Kraft has resorted to giving a way brewers massively. How many companies do you see having to do this to get their product out. It would have been much more cost effective to bring more product to the market, with more local availabilty, than to give a way brewers.

Kraft is already doing that the best they can. In this economy, grocers will not take the risk of stocking an unknown brand such as Carta Noire or Kenco...so all that they allow on the store shelves is Maxwell House. It makes sense...which as grocer would you stock...some brand your customers never heard of before....or the number two coffee in America?

If you want more than Maxwell House, you gotta ask your grocer for it. If they get enough requests so they think it might sell...only then will they take the risk and stock it.

Grocers sell what you tell them to sell, not what Kraft thinks people want.

Can we get back to my idea now?

How about putting the coffees on the shelves? If they're good, then it'll be "buy - buy Tassimo." If they're not good, then it'll be "bye - bye Tassimo." ;)

Having tested Tassimo and regular coffee, and noticed no difference in quality, why doesn't Kraft take this case to the people?

Just go across the country, and run double blind taste tests with Maxwell House coffee blends (since Maxwell House is so popular it's a no brainer)...and let people see for themselves how good tassimo brewers really are at making the same stuff they already enjoy.

Quit trying to beat Kureig...beat the grind.
