I recently switched from Keurig to Tassimo so that i can make latte's, cappacinos, better coffe etc. As everyone has noticed and no one can argue is that Kraft simply has put no marketing (or very, very little) into their Tassimo division. If this is simply an afterthought for Kraft, why not sell it to Starbucks, or anyone else who whats it, or simply spin it off. Keurig has demonstrated what effective marketing can do and has really exploded the single cup at home/office market.
What we have here is the Beta Vs. VHS battle, where the inferior VHS (or Keurig in our case) is winning the battle hands down! Thank goodness that Bed Bath and Beyond is around so that we can buy a FEW of the varieties that Tassimo offers.
Bottom line, Kraft either needs to put more mussle behind Tassimo or sell it to someone who will! This is the classic Razor/Razor Blade business model and once someone has spent $150 - $200 on a Keurig, how many will make the switch??? Ill answer that will almost no one! Green Mountain is saturating the market by selling their Keurigs almost at cost and making a ton of money selling the K-Cups.
WAKE UP KRAFT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE AND YOU HAVE COMPLETLY LOST THE BATTLE!
