I agree with Bman, this type of filtered water is perfect in any coffee maker. I've used this type of filtered water in my old Tassimo for years.

Softened water is hard ground water which salt & possibly other minerals are added to. Reverse osmosis is just a pressurized filtration system to remove impurities.

So yes, reverse osmosis water can be used.
