I always filter my water. It too has a lot of chlorine in it. I know that without a filter, my coffee has more of a bitter taste to it. The tea also.
I for one, like the filtered version.
Very good question droogie.

I have the one with the filter. I do have to filter the water I have, but I do that already with a Brita Pitcher so I haven't installed the Tassimo filter yet. I think I will do that if I run out of Brita filters, so I have that back up for the Tassimo.
I think it really depends on your water. I know mine doesn't taste that great unfiltered and I use my Brita filtered water for everything basically. I like to drink plain water and it would taste to much like clorine and who knows what else is in there

I purchased the non-filtered version because it was quite a bit cheaper. I think I paid $109 online and if I cared for filtered water I would just refill the reservoir from my brita pitcher.
We have the filtered version at work and to be honest, I can't taste the difference. Which Tassimo are you using?
