Someone tell the weather man that 10 inches of rain in 36 hours is WAY more than we need or want.

Sun's been out for a couple of days though so we're beginning to dry out a bit. I need another cuppa before I attack the mud in the garden again. ;)

A week ago today, it was 70 where I am. Friday and Saturday, we got 14 inches of snow. Today it's going to be 50.

I almost want to move to a desert so there's only two seasons, dry and wet. lol

Bea, I think you just made my mind pop. You are clearly enjoying your retirement, bravo! I'm now going to expect weekly trivia notes from you.

On the spring note; it rained a good part of the weekend and... I see grass! We still have large snow mounds, from where it all got plowed off the roads, but there -is- a light at the end of the tunnel. Today is windy, but tomorrow I intend to sit on my porch with my coffee, the paper, and enjoy the smell of spring coming in.

We've been having spring teasers the last couple of
weeks. Sixty degree days, followed by ice and snow,
followed by sixty degree days followed by ice and
snow. UGH!

Spring? What is spring? It has snowed almost continuously for the past 24 hours and more still to come.
There is light at the end of the tunnel - opening day for baseball is less than a month away - the spring seed catalogs are flooding the mailbox - as well as teasers for the PGA Golf Tournament in Rochester in May. The maple trees are giving up their sap and the sugar bushes are busy.

Our early Easter comes with a few interesting trivia notes - so make a cup of your favorite brew and ponder this:

This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

Based on the above, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22) but that is pretty rare. This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here are the facts:

The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).

Thenext time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!

We're close to smashing all snow records up here in NH. Spring? Count me in. Mowing lawns, planting, floating in the pool.

My birthday is in a few days, anyone want to melt all the NH snow for me? Please. Pretty please?

I'm with you on all of the above. Last year a terrible late freeze killed off the fruit crop and much of the wild fruits and nuts that support the deer and wildlife populations.

I'm looking forward to sitting out and enjoying a nice iced espresso while admiring my garden.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm about ready for winter to be over.

I love cold weather, but enough IS enough. :)
