Customer Service (1-877-TDISCS1/1-877-834-7271) would have better details one why you should or shouldn't use the filter for your machine.

As far as i know, you do not have to use the filter. Just take the whole filter compartment out of the tank.

This is probably a stupid question, but do you have to use the water filter in the new Bosch machine? I am thinking you probably don't but wanted to make sure before I needed to buy a new one. I have a water filter in my refrigerator and thought I would just use the filtered water from there instead of the Tassimo filters. This is what I did with the Braun Tassimo but wanted to be certain I could do it with my newer model. Also, is there any reason that I shouldn't do this? Thank you!
