I owned the Braun for a short time then got the Bosch when it was on sale at Target. Personally I find the Bosch has many advantages including:
Better Overall Design - The Bosch water tank is so much better integrated into the design of the new machine. I always thought the Braun water tank looked like an afterthought the way it stuck up over the rest of the machine and didn't seem as securely attached to the unit as the Bosch does. I also love the colored lights around the main button - and they seem less confusing than the Braun lights too. The front power switch is a great improvement too.
Much Easier to Clean - The Bosch doesn't get milk all over the place the way my Braun used to. I've found cleaning is virtually effortless after making hot chocolate.
No More Dribbling Water! - Its so nice to not have to dump the dribble water after every drink on the Bosch. I always hated that part.
Faster - The heating on demand for the Bosch is so much more time and energy efficient. The water comes out almost instantly and its nice the Bosch doesn't keep boiling more water after every cup the way the Braun used to.
Less Noise - It's nice the Bosch is quieter too although the noise never used to bother me on the Braun because it made me feel like I was professionally making some drink at Starbucks or something. LOL.

Haha, yeah. Not sure if I would have any espresso left in the cup if I used a frother....lol.

Hand-held frother, CoffeeFlow. The solution to your problem.
Maybe not, but it's a thought lol

I recently got the new Bosch machine. It’s true, the old Braun produces more froth and crema than the new Bosch unit does. I thought maybe I got a bad machine and exchanged it for a new one, but still not much crema in a shot of espresso, if any. You still can get some decent froth from a cappuccino, if you make sure to shake the milk disc first. It just doesn’t seem like the pump is as powerful as the Braun. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of good things about the new Bosch Tassimo, but for me the froth/crema issue is a deal breaker.

I owned two Braun and recently one broke and was sent in for repairs, they ended up sending me a new Bosch. Now I have one of each. This morning I will conduct a test and then share my findings.

Vote for the Bosch machine here!

The main reason why I prefer the new Bosch machine is that it's so quiet in brewing! And that is real big plus when you brew a cup of coffee at 5 in the morning!
Also, the Bosch is a LOT hotter than the Braun model!

My Braun machine stopped working after about 16 months. It's under warranty but I knew I couldn't get by for the length of time it would take to get it repaired. I purchased the Bosch this time because it was much cheaper. Target.com had it for $99.99 so I printed the information out and went to Bed Bath and Beyond with my 20% coupon and got it for $79.99. I had problems with the Braun all along with certain types of coffee, especially the Gevalia. There would be so many grounds I would have to pour it out. It was a lot messier when I would do a cappucino or latte. It also leaked water from the t-disc area when brewing. So far, I think I like the Bosch better. The water heats instantly, the on/off switch is on the front and easy to turn off when not in use and the piercing unit has the little spout that comes down out of the machine. The only thing I don't like as well is that the water container is smaller. Hope this helps.

Thanks smg for your review. It really helped. Now I can't wait until my Braun machine breaks down. How long does it last? Although, I must say I do like my machine except it leaks water.

Thanks, smg... Very well put. It gives me a much better operational picture of the two machines.

OK, JBBARTON........here ya go:
Bosch is a smaller footprint, more sleek, but water tank is larger Bosch water filter system is better Bosch is MUCH quieter Bosch has NO water dripoff Bosch indicator lights are improved over Braun (includes descaling indicator)
Bosch has filter clock to indicate when to change filter Bosch is cheaper (at least in NYC area)
So far (3 weeks), my coffee is HOT, my frothy coffees are FROTHY, and the cup stand is DRY (due to no water runoff).
I hope this helped you........................

I am disapponted by the answers to your question. I would like to know specifically what are the best and worst features of each.

I know what you mean, Jane. I'm a frugal New Englander and, as an example, as much as I wanted a new big screen TV, I waited (impatiently) until my old Sony finally started to fail. I wouldn't have replaced my Braun, which is doing just fine. The Bosch was a second machine for home (goes well in my newly remodeled kitchen).

You're probably right on the money. When you have a good product replaced by an equally good product, there are usually specifics in each that are just a bit better.
I'm trying to live a "use it up, wear it out" life style and my darn Braun won't wear out.
