I think it's primarily an information gap - the language barrier problem gets amplified due to the frustration level with the non-information.
Fulfillment and "customer service" are on two different continents and Gevalia/Kraft/Tassimo/Whatever has not figured out that the technology exists for them to communicate with each other.

I think it's an information barrier. They have little information and often it's not current. They aren't the company that ships anything.

I feel your pain, Ive had the bosch tassimo for just over a year and I am curently waiting for a new piercing unit and coffee ordered Feb 15th. I called to inquire of my order and was told to wait two more weeks. I will post if I recieve my order or not. I'm in Southern California, not in some third world out in the boonies address. And it seems Tassimo customer service does not like to communicate with customers. I suspect a language barrier.

Don't buy those pods! There are lots of good pods available online, but the grocery store selections are pretty much limited to Senseo and Folgers, which are pretty awful.
http://singleservecoffeeforums.com has some good insight into all things pod-related.

Thanks for your information -- I wasn't sure what was going on. Hopefully they'll right this soon...although, I did send an email about my problems and haven't received a reply. Not even an acknowledgement. Very sad. I understand that they are really busy but, to let me sit here wiating and calling and waiting and calling is not very good customer service. It also puts their reps in a bad position. As the consumer, it's not my concern that they overextended themselves. I signed up in good faith to receive my order every month in a timely fashion. All it takes is an email or call and I wouldn't have a problem with any of this, but they actually kept lying to me and their automated response is also a fabrication. Then the customer service rep only repeats what's in the computer insisting to me that January 1-February 19 is 4 weeks because the computer says it is. That's the really sad part. I will give them a few more months and then probably end up going with one of the new companies that sell "pods" in the grocery store. It truly makes me sad---this could be another company that hits the skids because of their service levels....very sad.

Haven, I am absolutely sure that the customer service phone line is answered by employees of Sitel and the T-Discs themselves ship out of a Warren Industries warehouse (Meadville, PA for me and I believe some also ship out of a Warren warehouse in Arizona for those in the western states). You don't have to take my word for it, though. Take a look at the return address listed on the envelope that's taped to your shipments and google it.
Outsourcing is very common these days. Kraft's problem is that the companies it has chose don't seem to communicate with each other very well. It's probably cheaper that way, though.
