The design of the circolo is so neat ; ) I was eyeing it as well. My GF has a Creativa. Nice. You can program in your recipe.. how much fluid you want to add per capsule and all you have to do is bring up that recipe to replicate your preferred drink. Have to say, I absolutely love the caps and lattes from this machine.

The DG coffee brewer manufactured in the states is a joint effort between Nespresso, Krups, and Nescafe. DG originated in Europe, but from what I am reading the newer Krups DG in the states is designed to be a better brewer and its still fairly young in the states. What has me looking closer at DG is the 15 bar pressure as opposed to the 1 - 2 bar pressure other brewers on the market are and the wonderful caps and lattes I actually had the privilege of enjoying recently. Both were true coffee house experiences with a lot more froth and although the milk capsules may be powdered it tasted more like true milk w/o the aftertaste in comparison to T-milk discs. And I loved loved loved the Peach Tea. Had not a clue there was a single serve coffee maker that can brew up both a hot and a cold drink. I guess the 15 bar pressure pump allows the DG to accomplish this feat. With our tassimos we brew hot and add ice cubes. With the DG you have the ability to brew cold drinks with the same machine. I don't plan to jump on it right now; waiting to see how the inventory expands. I read on a forum that DG may be getting ready to allow other coffee parties to join the DG experience. Plus, as small as the inventory for capsules is they have been expanding on their choices in the last year with promises for more. I've learned through my Tassimo investment that any future purchase I make will be much more informed and need to have a lot more available choices "before" I buy it. There has to be availability, my friend is able to buy the DG capsules locally in many of the same stores that sell T-discs. And when it comes down to it, even if not available locally, I can buy the full inventory of capsules sold on their direct site, right on Amazon. None of the capsules are held proprietarily on just their site as opposed to some T-discs you can only buy via TD. And what you get in europe you get here. I don't mind waiting it out, other machines may arrive on the market soon but I'm learning through reading and experiencing single serve brewers that have 15 bar pressure "is" a better coffee experience, a machine that can brew both hot and cold drinks, availability of coffees is important & expansion of drink choices is important, ; ) I'm going over to my friend's house today to sample more DG drinks.

It looks interesting and in many respects is similar to Tassimo. All of the varieties are propretary to Nescafe and there are only about a dozen different beverages. As with Tassimo, they have limited retailers who sell their capsules. So I'd be a little wary.

Good luck with your decision.

I've been thinking about a Nescafe Dolce Gusto Circolo. It looks like a great machine.

At this point - I'm basically 'rooting' for Sbux to come out smelling like roses.

And I'll learn to enjoy my cup of MH brown water... lol

I will stock up on my supply of SBux as much as I can now; then as the product gets scarse I am also considering the Keurig option.

Unless Kraft makes those European brands available without the HOOK; SEE YA!!!

Update 3:

"The judge said that for her to intervene, it was not enough that Kraft's business be disrupted. She said customers would continue to buy Kraft products even if they bought Starbucks' products elsewhere.

Starbucks spokesman Alan Hilowitz welcomed the decision.

"We are hopeful this will bring an end to Kraft's efforts to further confuse our mutual customers and look forward to the transition of the business to Starbucks on March 1 and to the pending arbitration process," Hilowitz said in a statement.

Kraft requested the injunction after Starbucks said it wanted to end the partnership.

Under the agreement, Kraft distributes Starbucks coffee to an estimated 40,000 grocery stores and other retailers in all 50 U.S. states and Canada, as well as in Britain and Europe."

I think that I'm done too. At this point I can't say that blame SBux. After I've finished my last disc, I'll just buy what ever SBux that's around.

I may buy a Keurig, I'll wait for a sale at Costco.

Kraft, ya killed a great concept. The Tassimo 'bot is years ahead of the Keurig. But in terms of meeting the needs of your customers, ya killed the 'bot. There are things that you could have done. By licensing your concept to producers of other coffee, you would have competition. It would have forced you to deliver a better coffee product.

Job well done ;)

I've been a Tassimo customer for almost four years, have three Tassimo brewers, but...

...yesterday, I began an active search for a new (read: different brand) of single serve coffee maker.

Too many CS problems (actually non-existent CS), too few choices, too much trouble.

Adios, Tassimo
