I couldn't tell you how many discs it took for the descale light to come on on my machine, but I have had the machine since the second week of January, 2010, and it's now April 16, 2010. The light just came on and I descaled it today. So it seems like every three or four months would be the average.

There are some interesting comments about descaling from other members found on this thread.
You may also find some additional helpful information here.
I don't know how many discs trigger the light, or if that is even what turns the light on, but I'll see if I can find out.

I KNOW DESCALING SHOULD BE DONE WHEN THE RED LIGHT APPEARS. ....THOUGH DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA HOW MANY DISCS GO THROUGH THE MACHINE UNTIL THAT HAPPENS?? ..THANK YOU.
