Thank you Linda and Bobndee. Descaling, even on my old Braun Tassimo, is not something that can be rushed. No filter or even a filter with filtered water (what I use) completely negates the necessity of descaling occasionally.

You beat me to the punch. I did exactly what your instructions stated this morning and voila, my red light went out. I found the not so clear instructions with the yellow cleaning disk stored in the slot between water tank and machine. I was just sitting down to write down my findings when I saw your input. My frustrations of trying to clear the light is over.

I am posting this in hopes of saving others the frustration that I had. I ran several packets of cleaning solution thru the machine, with no luck. I was not holding the button in long enough to activate the descaling program. Here are the exact instructions to get the job done and get the light to go off:

I solved the problem of the red light staying on the Tassimo Coffee Maker. Use these easy steps.
1. Fill a 2 cup measuring cup with hot water.
2. Mix in descaler.
3. Pour in the empty water tank.
4. Put the yellow cleaning disk in the chamber and close chamber. Put the two cup measuring cup under the spout.
5. Push and hold the brew button for about 3 seconds (until the red and green light flash.
6. Now don't touch the machine. It will do it's thing for about 20 minutes. (Don't be impatient and start to push buttons, just leave it)
7. When it finishes it's cycle. The red light will turn off. Then clean the water tank and put fresh water and run clean water through the brewing cycle 4 times. Your machine is now ready for use

It has been my experience to run the machine through descaling on occasion two times and on one occasion three times before the Tassimo showed an all clear. I'm a heavy latte and capuccino drinker for possible reasons that the sensors are showing this "occasional" need. I just descale until the lights return to normalcy. I'm glad for the utility of the sensors on our Tassimos. It takes the guesswork out of the equation & lets us know, Ok your machine is clean, you are good to go now. I view this as a perk.

I thought I had gone through the whole process correctly and the cleaning process after but the light remained on. I filled my tank up again with water and did the descale again. The light turned off after doing it the second time.

How do I get the descaler light to turn off? I have already gone through the whole process correctly. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
