Welcome to the community, Jenny! I'm sorry your first experience with a Tassimo was negative. When the tech folks get it fixed or replaced for you, maybe you can put one at work, or gift it to a friend so they can enjoy Tassimo too!

We also purchased our Tassimo in December - it is the model with the filter -- yesterday the light came on and we purchased the descaler and performed it today -- the light will not go out either!! We performed the process twice, tried unplugging it for a hour - nothing seems to work. We called customer service three times and finally they said 'uncle' and want us to send it back to them (we purchased it online in December 2008) - luckily we saw some Tassimo's at Target marked down yesterday to $24.99 and had grabbed a 'spare' so we won't have to do without.....the one we got from Target does not have a filter, but I just made a cup of expresso and it tastes just as good!!! Good luck - my suggestion is to keep calling customer service and maybe have them replace the Tassimo? Must be a flaw with the batch they made in December..... Jenny

You can also call customer service, it might get you answers faster.

I did unplug it overnight but I will try it again tonight (maybe second time is the charm!)
I did send a note to customer service. I have not received a reply. Hopefully, it will come soon!

Have you tried unplugging it for a short time, that may reset it. If not I'd give customer service a call.

Descale Light Will Not Go Out!

I have owned my Bosch Tassimo since early December 2008. Yesterday, the red descale light came on and I went to BB&B and purchased a product called Durgol. I performed the descaling process as described in the manual and everything went fine except the red light is still ON! The machine is working and the coffee seems fine but I do not know if there may be a reset button to make this light go out?! I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thank You.
