Good suggestions, Kris. I tend to wing it more than I should, and this is especially true with the milk discs I keep around for the occasional cuppa.
As far as the replacement milk discs, I would call CS again to make sure the replacement order hasn't gotten lost.

On all the T discs I have purchased. The expiration dates are on the outer packaging. When I open that I usually write it on the box so there is no doubt and I can throw away the package. Once I remove them from the box and put them in my carousel, which I keep in my pantry, I have a sheet of paper taped to the pantry door where I write the t disc type and the expiration date. This way I can keep them in the carousel and not wonder.
I did have a bad set of latte milk discs they came in a Chai latte package. When you shook them the dried milk didn't move like it usually does. I think it was 6 of the 8 lattes in that package. I called CS and they said they would send a replacement but I still haven't gotten it.

The expiration date is on the box, as someone has already mentioned. I remove my discs and put them in glass jars by my Tassimo, so I'm usually guessing, but I try to use whatever I buy within 6 months. So far, everything's been fine.

There should be an expiration date on the box they came in, or did you already remove them from that?

On my disc it's different. It's J4108191. So it would be 0819. On your example it's 90 on the first two. I tried online converters and I get March 30, 4711. I got them in Dec. and I know they were not expired or even near expiration at that time so it's not the 19th day of 2008.
Thanks, Jay

right below or on top of the barcode there is a series of alpha numeric code...this is the Julian date of the tdsic.most of the time it starts with J hence for the word JULIAN, 2 next numbers is not of importance to the customer, next 4 digits is the manufacturing date...
example:J81(9025)
translates as the 25th day of 2009.

Hello,
I purchased Suchard Hot Chocolate T-Discs back in Dec and just now found a couple left that I did not even know I had. I want to use them but I am afraid that they may not be any good and expired. The problem is I just have the two discs and not the outside package with the exp date. The discs only have a code printed but no actual date printed. Does anyone know how to figure out the exp date via the code?
Thanks Jay
