It could be that your machine is just more sensitive to the bar codes. If I was having this problem, I'd try a brand new cleaning disc and see if that works to rule out it being a complete rejection of cleaning discs, or just a rejection of older discs that may have faded or smudged or whatever.

Hated to admit it, but I missed the contact information. Now that I've done that, they confirmed that it's not under warranty and stated that no such programing exists.

I took my service disc to my parents place, where my first Bosch Tassimo resides, and found that it worked with that machine every time. I traded out service discs and came back to find that it doesn't work in my machine. So, recap, my machine rejects service discs but works every time for beverage discs.

The machine just hit a year old...I don't know what gives. My first one was ordered the DAY they were released and has been running like a champ ever since (besides the early issues with the piercing unit's gasket, which were fixed for free). I'll be sending this along to CS as well, but having the info on the forum is good, too.

Have you tried contacting Customer Service to see if the cleaning discs fall under warranty?

So I'm not sure why you want to go ahead and make a replacement and don't think you can count on the warranty without contacting Customer Service first. I know you said that don't want to mess with phone calls, but they do offer email, and any time you have any product that you have to ask warranty questions about, you always have to contact that company's customer service to do so.

So drop them an email or give them a call and see if they can help you out. :D

This should be covered under any decent warranty. It's a consequence of using cheap ink/paper for the bar code decal. Nothing is wrong with the molded plastic piece.

Since I apparently cannot count on the warranty, I'll just make a replacement label myself.

Good morning,

I assume you're asking about the Cleaning disc. You can purchase new cleaning discs in the Tassimo Store under Accessories.

If you want to verify that you have the correct part, you can check out the online manual for your particular unit under the Customer Service tab. There are both troubleshooting guides and operating manuals.

I have an older unit and I've found that the cleaning discs need to be replaced occasionally. I usually order two at a time so I always have a spare.

There are other sources for parts, if you want to try searching under Tassimo parts, you should be able to find a number of options if the part you are describing is not the cleaning disc.

Hope this helps. :)

Everything is clean, the switch for the bar code scanner is working, the bar code doesn't appear to be damaged in any way. The only possible flaw is that the black bars have ever so slightly faded.

All of the t-disc's still scan in flawlessly, so it must be the bar code on the service disc, unless there's something going on in the software, right? So, does anyone know how I can go about getting a new one through email? I simply don't have the time to deal with phone calls.

Thanks,
Siress
